Cost of living in Spain

High Standard - Low Costs
The cost of living is substantially lower than in the UK. The food
is cheap all year round. Most towns have regular markets and people come from miles around to buy fresh fruit and vegetables making the healthy Mediterranean diet a way of life.
Restaurant and tapas bars are very reasonable and dining out doesn’t have to be a special occasion, it is affordable anytime, below are some typical prices for everyday items:

Restaurants:
£5.50 each is a common price for three course meal
including paella as a starter, salmon main course, ice cream or flan, bread and bottle of wine.
Specialties include paella and other rice dishes, fried, steamed or salted fish; stews and soups including the famous gazpachos and the highly popular charcoaled lamb and succulent beef steaks often cooked in front of you. Desserts and local fruits – oranges, melons, strawberries, peaches, cherries, pears and apples are always fresh and delicious.
