Healthy climate
The Costa Blanca has a superb climate, with
air temperatures being an average 16C(61F)in winter and 32C (89F) in summer. There are 320 days of sunshine
per year. With such an abundance of sunshine, the Costa Blanca benefits from four harvests per year of an incredible
variety of fruit and vegetables.
While wine production is not overly popular, the area does have
a number of small vineyards that produce some excellent wines.
The blue flag flies over 80 of the beaches in the Valencia community.
The blue flag is only awarded to beaches
which fulfil a number of requirements regarding bathing water
quality (monitored at least every fortnight during high season), cleaning of the beach (daily during high
season), clean sanitary facilities, safety(lifeguard on duty during high season) and availability of first aid assistance.
Most beaches have a small bar/restaurant that is open during high season.
There is no heavy industry in the Costa Blanca area, hence the absence
of any pollution. The dry air makes for a healthy climate and is perfect for people with arthritis, psoriasis
and asthma. The infrastructure is excellent with an on going large scale investment in the road network. Spain
benefits greatly from its membership of the European union.
