Skilled
This means you have experience and qualification in an occupation that
is required in Australia
The skilled migration visa is probably the most simple of all, and by
far your best bet for residency.
To Qualify, you must:
Have a job on the occupation list - and have been in that job for 12 of
the last 18 months (or two of the last three years, depending on the occupation)
Be under 45 years of age
Have a t least a vocational standard of English
Have satisfactory health and character checks
Have relevant work experienceAdditional points can be acquired if:
You have family in Australia able to sponser you
Your spouse also has a job on the occupation list
Either you or your spouses job is on the demand list
You give a AUS$100,000 deposit to the Australian government, which will
be returned to you with interest twelve months later
Business owner - Sc160
This visa applies to people who have owned a successful business in the
UK, and who plan to set up a business in Australia. The Business Owner
visa comes in two parts. If you satisfy the first set of criteria, you
are granted a four year temporary visa for Australia. By the time this
expires, you must have established a business that meets the second set
of criteria. If you have, you will be granted permanent residency, if
not your visa will be revoked and you may find yourself on the next plane
back to the UK
In order to Qualify for the four year temporary Business Owner Visa you
must:
Be under 45 years of age
Speak vocational English
Possess an overall successful business career or business background
Have total net assets of AUS$500,000 which you are able to transfer within
two years, plus assets of AUS$50,000 to settle with
Have total assets of AUS500,000 in two of the four fiscal years prior
to application
Have a viable business proposal
Have a clean bill of health and no criminal record
Within four years of receiving the initial Business Owner Visa you must
apply for permanent residency.
In order to gain it, you must:
Have been in business in Australia for at least two years
Have had an annual turnover of at least AUS$300,000 in the 12 months prior
to application
Have net assets in he business of AUS$100,000 for 12 months prior to the
application (this can include business assets mentioned above)
Have two full time employees for the 12 months prior to application
Have a continuing viable business proposal
Have a clean bill of health and no criminal record
Retirement visas
A common example of retirement visa is a temporary retirement visa
To Qualify you must:
Be 55 or older
Have no dependant children or other dependant family members and, if married
or in a de afcto relationship, your partner has no such dependents
Have AUS$870,000
Or:
Have AUS$800,000 if you have a non dependant child permanently in Australia
Or:
Have AUS$350,000 and a pension or other capital investments to provide
an annual income of over AUS$52,000
Or:
Have AUS$315,000 and a pension or other capital for investment to provide
an annual income of over AUS$50,000 if you have a non dependent child
living permanently in Australia
Have no intension of working full time in Australia (temporary retirement
visa holders are allowed to work up to 20 hours per week in Australia)
Be of good health and character
Have adequate health insurance (you may not rely on Medicare unless it
is part of your own private medical insurance agreement)
The initial four year visa is renewable for two years pending satisfactory
medical and a formal assessment, including phone interview. You will also
have to meet the financial requirements and show evidence
Having had an ability to maintain satisfactory health cover.
